Steve Worley, Professional, Lead Guide at WBFC shows you how to tie the "Replicant Shortwing Stonefly".  The Yakima River in Central Washington has an abundant stonefly population.  The Shortwing Stonefly that emerges in September is by far the largest and most concentrated of all the species on this desert river.  This fly imitates the male version of the stonefly that begins showing ahead of the females in mid to late August.  Males prepare and await the giant females arrival in September.
