WBFC has complied a complete fly tying video series designed around fly fishing in Central Washington's rivers, lakes and streams. Of course, many of these patterns will and have worked in our
fisheries around the globe. But you will find a complete list of flies that you will find productive when fly fishing in this area of the country. Here, you will find a variety of "fly tying video's" showing you step by step how to put each fly together, along with tips on how and where to fish
them. Each, high quality video also has a list of ingredients or pattern index at the end of each segment. You can purchase the ingredients on each video page and we will ship it to you where ever you are in the
world.
We
appreciate your business and hope
you enjoy the series. Feel

Steve Worley, Owner and
Guide at WBFC in this video segment presents the "Deep Sparkle Pupa Variant-CDC, Deep Sparkle Pupa-Swing Partridge and the CDC Sparkle Pupa. This fly presented is a "variant" of the great fly pattern imitation, the "Deep
Sparkle/Sparkle Pupa" created by the "Caddis" Guru, Gary LaFontaine. Gary Lafontaine's intense research about the Caddisfly is legendary. His intensive research ferried him around the states of Montana, Idaho and
Washington, where he submerged himself in these fable rivers to view caddisflies, while they were emerging.
It's a documented fact that he scuba dived
over 70 times in many of these river. Here, while submerged underwater, discovered the "air bubble" effect that caddisflies use to emerge, omitting it around the contour of their body to rise to the surface of river.
He quickly determined that trout keyed in on that air bubble. So that research sent him in search of a fly tying material that would replicate the air bubble on a fly. After profound research, he
discovered "antron" yarn imposed that exact effect. He then crafted the "Sparkle Pupa" & the "Deep Sparkle Pupa". Since his passing in 2002, several other natural fibers have been found to produce the same air bubble effect,
CDC being one of these natural fibers. We can thank Gary for his unrelenting passion and research, which surely brought new excitment into the sport of fly fishing and fly tying. Most of the fly patterns to date that replicate
Caddisflies are imitations of his, just like this one. If you have not purchased or read his book "Caddisflies", I would encourage you to do so. Unfortunately, all of his books are now out of print, but used versions
can be found at used books stores and online. Thanks for viewing
and sharing.
