Over the past several decades, fly fishing has become a popular form of fishing, espeically in the Western United States. With the vast amount of fabled rivers, streams and stillwater fisheries spread out across the Pacific Northwest, both men and women have taken up the sport of fly fishing. Each year, the interest and intrique in catching both freshwater and saltwater species of fish on flies continues to grow. With that said, the professional staff at Worley Bugger Fly Co, has been educating fly anglers for over two decades on the art of catching fish with flies. | ||||||||

Fly fishing is a constantly growing sport and with it, the art of fly tying is a popular pastime for many fly fishermen as well. For the staff of WBFC, fly tying is just an extension of the sport. We firmly believe, that by understand the concepts of any fly pattern and how to construct it will in turn, produce a better, well rounded fly fishermen on the stream. By comprehending the principles of fly construction and a particular pattern, you will recognize the reasoning of it's structure as well as the purpose behind it. With this knowledge and understanding, your tactics and your skill on the water, will increase dramatically. Beginning in January, the Professional Fly Fishing staff of WBFC will offer a "Saturday Fly Tying" session from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The classes will be held at the WBFC Pro Shop in Ellensburg. Each week, a member of WBFC will select a particular fly pattern to produce. You will see flies for a wide variety of different species and will as patterns for different and unique situations. Dries, nymphs, streamers and emergers. Patterns for both freshwater and saltwater applications. During the tying session, discussions will be held on construction of the fly, it's productivity, how to fish it, when and where. With the constant introduction of new natural and synthetic materials, you will also learn how to tie with these incredible sources and incorporate them into your own personnel patterns. Vises, tools and all materials are provided. Our custom fly tying table is fully equipped with Regal Vises, Dr Slick Tools and proper LED Lighting to enhance the session. Please feel free to bring your own tools and vise if you prefer. This is a fun and exciting fly tying session, that the staff enjoys doing each Saturday. Their is limited seating for these fly tying session each week. Only 6 seats are available to tiers every Saturday. We do require that you pre-register and prepay in advance to hold your spot for each session. This is an intermediate to advanced tying session as well, so if you have limited fly tying abilities, we would prefer that you first participate in the WBFC 101 Class beforehand. Time is limited here and you must understand the basic fly tying principles in order to participate. | ||||||||
The weekly Saturday Fly Tying class schedule is as follows, along with a list of patterns we will be tying. There will be 4 sessions each month on the following dates; Check back often to see the new patterns we will be offering each month.

You can also stop by the WBFC Ellensburg Pro-Shop to register your spot or call us at 509-962-2033 as well. Keep in mind only 6 spots are available for the each session, so don't wait. Class sessions and seats are filled on a first come-first serve basis. Llimited availible seats are offered on a first come, first serve basis. Because seating is limited to only 6 fly tyers, refunds can not be given if you fail to appear for the class. Sorry no exceptions.
