Yakima River March Brown Hatch
The March Brown hatch has been starting at about 1:00 p.m. and lasts approximately an hour and a half. The hatch has been going steadily now for about 2 weeks, so the trout are well aware of there presence. Fishing your March Brown pattern throughout the day will be productive for you as well.
As you can see from the picture below the surface of the water is covered in March Brown Duns. Once they hatch they ride the surface of the water and are highly vulnerable to the Yakima river trout. The trout are growing big and fat already from this hatch. As you can see from the pictures they are gorging themselves on these huge mayflies.
