Fishing Bear Lodge at the mouth of the Peace River is in the heart of the 1.6 million acre Wood River-Tikchik River State Park. This incrediable setting is hailed as one of Alaska's most beautiful locations, with it's peaceful flowing waterfront, amidst a surrounding background of spire clad mountains. The lodge and fishing operations is located in the heart of Bristol Bay's, trophy rainbow trout area with some of the highest concentrations of rainbow trout, Arctic grayling and Arctic char in Alaska. Fishing Bear Lodge operations, indivudually customizes each fishing day for each and every guest. A jetboat is used to traverse from river to river and travel through the interconnected lake systems to various streams in the heart of the Wood Tikchik State Park to fly fish many of these select locations.

Each morning after a hearty breakfast, you will depart with an experienced Fishing Bear guide, via your jetboat for a full day of adventure and fly fishing. Your options for the day are unlimited, as you will be fishing the most diverse freshwater system of rivers, lakes and streams in all of Alaska!  Once you've flown via floatplane to Fishing Bear Lodge, daily fly-outs are not required, so everyday is a fishing day, regardless of the weather. You even have great fishing within 100 feet of your waterfront guest cabin.   This is a true Alaska experience!

• Rainbow Trout-July through the end of August is the peak dry fly fishing in this remote area of Alaska. The WBFC hosted trip will be at the Fishing Bear Lodge during prime time dry fly fishing for wild, native rainbows!

• Northern Pike-From mid June thru September, fly fishing for Northern Pike in the shallow bays and weed beds of the area lakes is exceptional.  This is exciting, explosive fishing with flies.

• Artic Char-The Arctic Char fishing is exceptional from mid-June to the first week in July when they are voraciously feeding on the salmon fry and smolt they migrate downstream towards Bristol Bay.

• Grayling-These beautiful trout species with a large sail-like dorsal fin and vivid iridescent colors are abundant in the beautiful streams in the Fishing Bear Lodge region. Grayling are generally abundant throughout most of season.  Expect excellent dry fly fishing in the streams for large Graylign during our stay.
